Environment and culture

The Black Forest is one of Germany’s most popular holiday regions – renowned for its dense forests, gentle valleys, majestic mountains and idyllic villages. Whether active relaxation or relaxed indulgence: this region offers something for everyone.

Nature & Active Holidays

With a multitude of walking trails, including the Cuckoo Trail and the Hexensteig, Triberg offers spectacular views, numerous hiking and cycling routes, and the Black Forest National Park. Whether the West Way, mountain bike trails or winter walks – nature lovers are spoilt for choice all year round.

Winter Paradise Triberg

The region offers numerous winter activities such as cross-country skiing, toboggan runs and reliable snowfall. The most modern facilities, snowshoe walks and cosy mountain huts make the winter here especially memorable.

Culture & Towns

Triberg in the Black Forest enchants with medieval charm and the famous minster, while Baden-Baden shines with elegant thermal baths and international culture. Romantic half-timbered houses and lived tradition shape the whole region.

Gastronomy & Enjoyment

The Black Forest is a true culinary region: Black Forest gateau, flammkuchen, hearty snacks and regional wine invite you to feast. Distinctive and unmistakable: the Bollenhut as a symbol of regional costume.

Boundless Possibilities

Proximity to Alsace and Switzerland makes the Black Forest an ideal base for cultural excursions. Strasbourg with its old town, the Alsatian wine route or Basel with its world‑famous art scene – all easily reachable in a short time.

Sustainable Travel

Many accommodations and hosts adopt eco-friendly concepts, local products and conscious travel. Sustainability and nature experience go hand in hand in the Black Forest.
